Pastor Morie and Evangelist Lavalie who were assigned to a new group of believers in Sierra Leone were involved in what could have been a fatal incident. Evangelist Lavalie was bitten by a snake on the side of his face while sleeping. He was rush to the hospital and underwent treatment. Pastor Francis Mattia, President of the Sierra Leone SDB Conference, also reported that he went to visit the group and what happened to Evangelist Lavalie nearly happened to him but the snake was killed first.
It was further reported that a spiritualist in the town died, but before passing he confessed that he was the one who tried to killed the Evangelist because their prayers have been disturbing him and moreover the gods were not happy with him for allowing prayers and Bible studies in that house. Pastor Mattia also said he was called upon by the town Chief to answer questions pertaining the death of the spiritualist. “I told them that all I did was prayer. I wish the spiritualist had survived to be a living witness for the Lord. Our brothers have been ask to vacate the house. This is another challenge for the brother and all of us. If we as God servant are faithful in our Service for the Master, He will ever remain to be our protector and defender as He did for Paul, Daniel and others.” – Pastor Francis Edward Mattia, Sierra Leone
We pray for the full recovery of Evangelist Lavalie, courage and strength for all Pastors & Leaders and the work of spreading the gospel in Sierra Leone.
