The corona virus pandemic is upon the world. In an unprecedented way, the lives of people around the world are being affected by the threat of the COVID-19 virus.
At the Seventh Day Baptist Missionary Society, we are taking the pandemic seriously and urge all our brothers and sisters around the world to do the same. Be guided by legitimate and reliable sources of information which apply to your local area, pay attention to directives and recommendations coming from your local government authorities, and continue to live according to the tenets of your biblical faith.
We endorse and concur with the contents of the letter issued by the Executive Director of the USA and Canada General Conference on March 13, 2020, and the update shared by the SDB Director Team on March 17, 2020 – https://seventhdaybaptist.org/covid-19-update-march-17-2020/
Philippians 4:6-7 are two good verses to practice and meditate on in these times, “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”
So, prepare, but don’t panic. We live by faith. God is with us as we seek protection and discern how best to show love to our neighbors. Be aware, be alert, be prayerful, be helpful, be hopeful. The peace of God will guard us, and the God of peace will guide us.
May the gracious favor of the Lord be upon us all!
~ Andrew O. Samuels, Chief Executive Director
