The Brazilian SDB women at their retreat last August, were inspired to start a project called “Clothes and Letters to Africa”, to attend to the needs of children in Africa.
The women made dresses and t-shirts to be sent to children of SDB churches in Africa, through the delegates who would attend the January 2017 World Federation Session in Brazil. In addition the Brazilians encouraged children in their local churches to write letters, talking about Jesus’ love, to accompany the clothes to Africa. They also raised a special offering to help pay for excess baggage fees. At the end of the World Federation Session suitcases filled with clothes and letters were sent to: Zambia, Nigeria, Malawi, Uganda and Rwanda.
Representatives of the many beneficiaries sent their thanks to all who donated to bring children joy and hope for continuing relationships, particularly in letters
