A New Work in Puerto Rico

Joel and Judith Houts, members of the SDB church in Pataskala, Ohio, found themselves called to start a church plant in Puerto Rico. With the support of their church and pastor, they have rented a space for worship and bought 30 chairs because they strongly believe that God has called them to join His work there. On January 2nd, 2013 they gathered for an inauguration of the church and a baptismal service for their first five members on the beautiful Puerto Rican coastline.

Commissioned by the Pataskala SDB Church and functioning as a branch of that congregation, but this mission is also receiving support from other SDBs as well. The new work received a member of the SDB Church of Albion, WI in January to help in mission work as well as one for severl weeks helping out from the Agape SDB in Kissimmee, FL. Also, the SDB Outreach Bible Church in Portage, WI has been backing them up not only with their prayers, e-mails, and phone calls, but also with offerings.  Across the conference, SDBs are lifting them up in prayer.

Judith Houts shares her perspective, “God is moving not only in Puerto Rico, but in the churches in the USA.”20130308
