Verona’s Mission to Kenya

2/12/2012

Steven James, pastor of the Verona Seventh Day Baptist Church in Verona, NY is preparing for a mission to Africa. The plan is to send Steven to visit Kenya to team up with Pastor Benard Mose and help in Benard’s SDB Conference there.

For about the last dozen years Steven’s church has been involved with Pastor Benard’s work in Kenya, supporting them regularly with finances and with prayer. Steven and Benard have become much more acquainted with each other through almost daily contact on Facebook and cell phones.

Steven has the full support of his congregation and deaconate in Verona. Also, the Missionary Society has voted to proceed with this mission project, help with training and coordinating, and authorized matching funds up to $2,500.

The mission is projected to be about four weeks in June and cost $5K – $7K. Some of their objectives include, leadership training, assisting with evangelism efforts, and getting a firsthand concept as to the mission, ministry and mindset of the Kenya Conference.

Of course, the Verona SDB Church could really use financial help with this mission, but all concerned covet prayers that we carry out this project in such a way that it brings glory to God here and in Kenya.
