Scenes around Cebu and Bohol, in the Philippines, after earthquake on Oct 15.
Prayer partners are asked to pray for people in the Philippines,
especially of Cebu and Bohol, as they pick up the pieces.
They were shaken by an earthquake of magnitude 7.2 on October 15th, approximately 2 km NE of Catigbian, which is a distance of 30 Miles from Cebu City where much of our SDB family in Philippines are located.
The New York Times, on Oct 16th reported that: “The death toll from a powerful earthquake that shook the Philippines rose to 144 on Wednesday, with nearly 300 people injured in the quake, which caused widespread damage…..”.
A Facebook posting, by a SDB brethren said: “Latest report of our SDB church in putik island of Getafe province of Bohol, it was partially damage, the comfort room was totally damage, and the school building of our beloved sis. Linda Siganay is not safe for the people. According to bro. Recardo”.
Excerpt from an email, by another SDB brethren said: “I thank God for His divine protection from earthquake few days ago. We do have minor damage. Bohol island and part of Cebu were have more damage. Our church are collecting some goods for help that was given to those victim as part of our Christians community service”.
To our knowledge our SDB family in the Philippines are safe and accounted for but much prayer is needed for persons who have lost loved ones, our brethren who may have suffered damages, and for the country as they work to recover from this disaster.
