Early last year the Missionary Society partnered with Sierra Leone SDBs for a pilot project of placing orphans with church families and assisting the family financially for the first year. The pilot year has been completed with some successes and is being used as the model for orphan placement in other African countries. Over the last few months, Tanzania, Burundi, and Uganda have been faithfully reporting the transition of the children into new homes.
One such report was about an orphan in Uganda; an Elder in the church was able to take him into his family. “By God’s we were able to get a family for Eriya (an albino orphan) and we promised them to give all the support we can and also that the missionary society will also try to (get) support…” – Bro. Daniel, Uganda SDB
