Orphan Placement Transition – Tanzania

The SDB churches in Tanzania are embarking on a program of Orphan Placement Transition Support. The objective is to assist families overcome the initial expense of incorporating orphans into their homes. The financial support will be just for the first year and will decrease monthly over the year.

This is modeled after a program the Missionary Society began a few months ago with Sierra Leone SDBs, from funds donated by the Brazilian SDB Conference to help SDB ministries in Ebola stricken countries.  The Tanzanian Conference has carefully selected six families who will integrate an orphan into each of their homes. The projected total cost for their initial financial support is $1,980.  Local church leaders will distribute funds, monitor the program, and report on the transitions.

Help Eliminate Orphans – Support their integration into church families

“…the orphan and the widow who are in your town, shall come and eat and be satisfied, in order that the Lord your God may bless you in all the work of your hand which you do.” –  Deuteronomy 14:29b
