The team of David Stall, John Pethtel, Steve Osborn and their translator accomplished their mission in Gambela, Ethiopia and have returned home safely. Praise God! Their mission was a follow-up to one in 2014 that constructed the first SDB church building in Ethiopia and began SDB training with leaders. Their objectives were to (1) Check status of worship facilities (2) Encourage pastors/leaders and (3) Teach SDB beliefs.
Some Updates from Ethiopia during the mission:
(Jan 28) – “Our first full day here was very good. We did lots of talking and teaching. They shared a lot about the churches. There are 8 churches here now and 4 more pastors that they are ready to ordain.”
(Jan 29) – “unrest here in Gambela is between two of the non-Ethiopian tribes…Lots of government soldiers with guns have come in to keep things quiet.
(Jan 31) – “Gambela seems safe and quiet tonight. Overall, it was another good day.”
(Feb 3) – “We completed our mission today. Great things have been accomplished here! … God has been good to the churches here! …Tomorrow morning we start “mission get home”…”
God be glorifies in this great project report. The Missionary Society wants to thank all the Churches, Groups and Individuals who made this project possible with prayers, encouragement and funding. We pray a special blessing on the team that went to Gambela, Ethiopia and their families for supported them in going.
May all our hearts be greater consumed with God’s work.
