India Disaster Relief Update

10/15/2015

Following weeks of relentless rain and a cyclone in India, it was reported that at least 81 persons died. Among the areas hardest hit in the eastern regions was Manipur, where at least 20 persons lost their lives. The Society received communication from the SDB Group in Manipur saying they were experiencing political and environmental challenges due the natural disasters; support was then solicited from other SDBs, received and sent to Manipur.

A Joyful response: “I am glad to give a report about the funds…transferred that we had received and buy rice for distribution”– David Ruatmuansang, SDB Secretary (Manipur).

Support is helping to restore normalcy to lives of SDBs in Manipur, India
