Hostilities Threaten SDB Relatives in South Sudan

Relatives of new Seventh Day Baptists in Juba and Malakal, South Sudan, as well as in Gambela, Ethiopia request prayers for relatives impacted by attacks.

Thousands of people are fleeing the South Sudanese city of Bentiu amid fears of a government offensive to recapture the oil-rich area from rebels. The conflict broke out in mid-December 2013 when President Salva Kiir accused his ex-deputy, Riek Machar, of plotting a coup. At least 1,000 people have been killed in the conflict and nearly 200,000 people have been forced from their homes in the fighting.
