SDBs have always been a missions minded people. In 1664 Stephen Mumford migrated to Newport, RI, from England and was instrumental in the start of the 1st SDB Church in the US. In the 1700s the number of SDB churches multiplied and at the 1st meeting of the General Conference in 1802 it was established that missionaries be sent out. The national field was primary but by 1844 interest grew in foreign missions. Since then SDB missionaries have been going globally; spreading the gospel and facilitating the development of SDB Churches.
YOU COULD BE THE NEXT PERSON GOD IS CALLING TO GO
“James 1:27 says that the best way we can serve our God is to help the widows and orphans, and to be untainted by the fallen world we live in…. [My missionary] experiences taught me that I was made to do more than what I can do living in my little house, going to my little job, tithing every week, and serving in my [local] church.” Craig Mosher – Berlin, NY
